On Labor Day weekend, the Hy Vee Corporation hosts the 5150 US Championships in DesMoines, IA. It is a fantastic weekend that finishes off with the adult triathlons taking place on Sunday. In 2012, Coach Todd qualified for the US Championships based on his 4th place finish at the Hy Vee Trathlon in 2011. This race was the first of two consecutive races in two weekends for Coach Todd. The second race is the Rev3 Full at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH on September 9th. The Full Distance race is the major A race for 2012. The US Championships were taking place at the end of the first full week of tapering for Rev3. The race was a solid confirmation that all the training was paying dividends and Coach Todd was ready for Rev3. His finish time of 2:12:20 was about 4 minutes faster than last year and good enough for 5th place in the 45 to 49 age group. Great Job Coach Todd!!
